Daniel Asadi Faezi is a filmmaker and visual artist based in Munich.

He studied at University of Television and Film Munich and National College of Arts Lahore, Pakistan.
Throughout his artistic practice, Daniel Asadi Faezi focuses on narratives of landscapes, architecture and the historical and political scopes attached to those places. He looks at human geographies with different means of cinema, using visual anthropology, archival approaches, field recordings, oral history and typography.


His films have been screened at numerous galleries and filmfestivals, including Berlinale, Locarno, IDFA, Visions du Réel, DOK Leipzig, BFI London, New Directors/New Films (MoMA and Lincoln Centre New York), NS Dokumentationszentrum München and ICA London. His body of work has been highlighted through artist-in-focus showcases at Field Recordings Rotterdam (NL), EQUINOXIO at Cinemateca Bogota (COL), KFFK Cologne (DE), Internationale Kurzfilmwoche Regensburg (DE) and DAFilms (online).
Daniel Asadi Faezi is an alumni of DAAD, Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung, Gerd-Ruge-Stipendium and Berlinale Talents.
Currently Daniel Asadi Faezi is working on his debut feature length documentary Field Notes together with Mila Zhluktenko.
 The duo co-directed the shortfilms Aralkum (2022 – Visions du Réel / Juryprize for Best Shortfilm), waking up in silence (2023 – Berlinale Generation /Special Juryprize) and in retrospect (2025 – German Shortfilm Award). Most of their works can be streamed on Dafilms.com.
